Working Principle
The RF Capacitance Switch is a device used for liquid level control or material detection, operating based on the variation of RF capacitance. Typically, the switch consists of a transmitting electrode and a receiving electrode, forming a capacitance between them.
During operation, the RF Capacitance Switch applies RF signals at a certain frequency to the transmitting electrode, which then passes through the liquid or solid material and propagates to the receiving electrode. When the dielectric constant of the medium (i.e., relative permittivity) changes, the capacitance value also changes. Normally, when no material is in contact with the sensor, the capacitance between the receiving electrodes is small; however, as the liquid level rises or material contacts the sensor, the dielectric constant of the medium increases, leading to an increase in capacitance.
By measuring the capacitance change between the receiving electrodes, the RF Capacitance Switch can detect the presence of the medium or the level of the liquid. When the capacitance value reaches a preset threshold, the switch triggers the corresponding signal output, which can be used to control alarm devices, valves, or other equipment.
