Overview
The JC-030 series elbow flow meter is installed at natural bends or horizontal straight sections of industrial pipelines. It operates without additional pressure loss, offering excellent measurement repeatability. It is suitable for complex fluid conditions such as low working pressure, high medium temperature, medium contamination, strong mechanical vibration, and large flow rates. It finds wide application in various sectors including electricity, heat, metallurgy, steel, petroleum, chemical, machinery, textiles, papermaking, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and utilities for liquid, gas, and steam flow measurement.
Principle
Fluid flowing through a pipe under certain temperature and pressure conditions rotates circumferentially when passing through a bend. According to the theory of forced vortex motion, the inertial centrifugal force generated by the fluid's circumferential motion is similar to the motion of solids in space. Therefore, the size of this centrifugal force is related to factors such as fluid velocity, fluid density, and the curvature radius of the circular motion (the curvature radius of the elbow sensor). Since the curvature radius of the elbow sensor is known, and the fluid density passing through the elbow sensor can be accurately obtained through the measurement of parameters such as fluid temperature and pressure, the size of the centrifugal force generated on the elbow sensor is only a function of the fluid flow velocity. By measuring the size of the centrifugal force, the fluid flow velocity in the pipeline can be determined, and multiplying the flow velocity by the cross-sectional area of the pipe and the fluid density allows for the calculation of fluid flow.
