Overview
The JC-W V-Cone flow meter operates on the same principle as other differential pressure flow meters, utilizing a throttling mechanism to measure flow. It adheres to the laws of mass conservation (continuity equation) and energy conservation (Bernoulli equation) in closed pipes. Unlike traditional devices that throttle and constrict the flow to the center axis of the pipe, the V-Cone flow meter uses a V-shaped sharp cone that is coaxially installed within the pipe. This cone gradually constricts the fluid towards the inner wall of the pipe. The flow rate is determined by measuring the differential pressure before and after this V-shaped cone. Under stable flow conditions, the velocity of the fluid in the pipe is proportional to the square root of the differential pressure.
The inner cone tube is based on the Venturi tube measurement principle but represents a significant structural evolution over traditional Venturi tubes. It combines the advantages of the Venturi tube, annular orifice plate, and wear-resistant orifice plate into a new generation of throttling devices.
The V-Cone flow meter is suitable for almost all types of gases, liquids, and steam media.
