80GHz Radar Level Transmitter

The high temperature 80GHz radar level transmitter is designed for reliable and accurate non contact level measurement in harsh industrial environments. Featuring advanced 80GHz FMCW radar technology, it delivers excellent focusing, strong signal penetration, and stable performance even in high temperature, dusty, or complex process conditions.
For different temperature ranges, the transmitter offers multiple antenna material options to ensure long term reliability. PTFE antenna lenses are used for applications up to 170°C, providing excellent chemical resistance and stable performance. For temperatures above 170°C, PFA antenna options are available, offering improved thermal durability while maintaining high measurement accuracy. For extreme high temperature applications up to 300°C, a quartz antenna lens is applied, ensuring superior heat resistance and long service life in demanding processes.
With multi signal outputs including 4–20mA, RS485, HART, and Bluetooth, the transmitter supports flexible system integration and easy commissioning. Combined with robust industrial design, it is an ideal solution for tanks, silos, and vessels operating under high temperature and challenging process conditions.
The 80GHz radar level transmitter adopts the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar principle. It emits high-frequency microwave signals, receives the echoes, and calculates the frequency difference to determine the level height.
Compared with conventional radar, our radar features a unique waveguide measurement method, independently developed by our company, which significantly enhances performance and reliability in complex applications.

What temperature range can this radar level transmitter reliably operate in?
This radar level transmitter operates in the frequency band of 80 GHz and is built for very hot conditions, as it does not only support continuous level measurement in vessels and tanks where temperatures can be high, but also provides continuous monitoring where the temperatures can reach very high levels. The device consists of internal parts and antenna materials that are carefully chosen so that they can soport and still perform well in a very hot environment. How does the Bluetooth interface simplify setup and maintenance?
The Bluetooth interface that comes with the transmitter makes it possible to configure the device and conduct diagnostic tests without wires using a mobile phone. Technicians no longer have to access the control panel or to connect a laptop physically in a dangerous or difficult-to-reach area; they can use a Bluetooth smartphone or tablet to change parameters, monitor the system and perform diagnostic tests. All this boosts safety, cuts down on installation time, and increases efficiency on-site during commissioning.
Can this transmitter be integrated with modern industrial control systems?
This radar level transmitter has, indeed, several output protocols: 4–20 mA, RS485, and HART that give it the ability to be part of a vast array of industrial automation systems like PLCs, DCS, and SCADA platforms. Is there any maintenance required for high-temperature applications?
The maintenance of the device is generally not frequent mainly because of the robustness of the transmitter, but still, it is advisable to inspect the installation at regular intervals, especially in environments with heavy condensation or particulate exposure. Ensure the antenna surface remains clean and free of buildup, and check electrical connections for integrity. In most cases, the robust construction and thermal-resistant materials will reduce the frequency of maintenance compared to conventional sensors.
